Bob Pennypacker has a background in architecture. He earned his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley and graduate degree from Columbia. Since then, he spent twenty years in the corporate world. During his thirteen years at Bechtel Corporation, Bob had the opportunity to work a wide spectrum of projects around the globe, and in several cases, following the design to the site for construction.
Bob came to Healdsburg in 2000 and started a design-build practice. Serving individuals rather than corporate boards or government agencies was a refreshing break. This eventually led to small scale development and the transition to real estate. He built his own house here in town, rebuilt several clients’ homes throughout the county, and developed a spec house at the north end of Healdsburg.
Throughout his career, Bob has had to deal with issues of real estate, and finding creative solutions to opportunities presented by a particular site. Therefore, real estate was a natural career evolution for Bob: architecture and real estate both require an aptitude for creative problem solving. Bob is thriving in the field even in this challenging market.
Bob’s personal philosophy in real estate is that it his duty to provide his clients with complete and accurate information on a regular basis so that they might make informed decisions. A good transaction is one in which all parties understand all of the components of the property and of the contract. Due to his background in architecture, Bob is also able to deliver information to his clients not just of what is there, but also about a property’s potential.
